Please support Henry Biggs’ London Marathon run for
the Wish Tree Charity

On the 27th April 2025, Henry Biggs will be running the iconic London Marathon to raise funds for the Wish Tree Charity.  Henry has been part of the village his whole life - he grew up in the village, attended Flamstead Village Primary School, played for the local football team and sang in the church choir.

 

“I am thrilled to be running the London Marathon on behalf of a charity that massively supports those who need it in an area that I’m so proud to call home.” says Henry.

 

The Wish Tree Charity has supported the Biggs’ family since Henry’s dad, Matthew Biggs, began his fight against cancer four years ago.

“The Wish Tree team has gone above and beyond to help us when we needed it most, just as they’ve done for so many others in the village” Henry shares. Henry first turned to running during lockdown - around the same time his dad was diagnosed. Since then, he has found running to be a powerful coping mechanism, allowing him to gather his thoughts and keep a clear head.

 

“Running the London Marathon for Wish Tree is an honour,” Henry says. “It’s not just about giving back to a charity that helped us; it’s about ensuring they can continue supporting others in our community.”

2. Join the Christmas (Wish)Tree Fun Run on Sunday 22nd December 2024,
   Get into the festive spirit and support Henry by participating in the upcoming fundraiser: The Christmas Wish Tree Fun Run….. Everyone is encouraged to dress up all things Christmassy and festive music will accompany you along the route!  All abilities are welcome (you can run or walk), and spectators are encouraged to come along too.

 

EVENT DETAILS

• Date: Sunday 22nd December 2024.

• Time: Meet at the Pavilion at 11.00am for a warm up.

• Location: Flamstead Recreation Ground and ‘Flamstead Triangle’.

• Fun run starts at 11:30am.

• Refreshments and a raffle will follow afterwards at the Pavillion

• Cost: £10 per Adult, £5 per child, or £25 for family (up to 2 adults/3 children), which includes a raffle ticket.
