TRUSTEES AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The Wish Tree Charity is run and administered by 5 volunteer Trustees. They are assisted by volunteer committee members who attend regular meetings with the Trustees, help with specific tasks and at fundraising events.

TRACY WELLS

Chairperson

My name is Tracy Wells and I have lived in the village since 1999. I am married to Matt who is a professional musician. We have 2 adult children who both attended the Flamstead village Pre-school and Flamstead Primary school where during their attendance, I was the Pre-school Chair as well as an active member and supporter of the PTA/Committee at Flamstead village school.

I have supported The Wish Tree Charity since it started in 2008 and personally knew the families it initially set out to support. I joined the Committee formally in 2011 as a committee member but have been Chair of the Charity since 2014. We are so privileged to have such a Charity within our small village and I continue to be passionate about enabling villagers to access help and support when they need it most.

I love my job and continue to work full time as a Community Neuro Specialist Occupational Therapist within the Bedfordshire area.

I have also been a member of the Flamstead netball team for 19 years. I enjoy walking our dog Max around the lovely countryside surrounding our village, keeping fit, spending time with the family and hanging out with friends. I also love my food and very partial to a G&T!

ALI MOSS

Treasurer

I’m Alison Moss. I’ve lived in Flamstead for 25 years with my husband, our two daughters and our much loved Golden Retriever. I originally come from Norwich and moved with work to Northampton and then to Flamstead for an easy commute to my job in Moorgate.

I joined the Wish Tree to support the original trustees during a music festival several years ago, and I’m now proud to be the Treasurer. My role is to administer the funds we raise and pay bills for the help we provide to residents. Along with the other trustees, we collectively make decisions when a resident asks for help and we allocate resources to assist them.

In my spare time I like walking and running in the countryside around the village, volunteering with Riding for the Disabled and spending time with family and friends.

ALEX MORRIS

Trustee

I am Alex Morris, married to Shaun with two children who are 14 & 11 along with our three Hungarian Vizslas!! The children are at school locally and I have previously been very involved for a number of years with various social events for school fundraising. Now my children are at secondary age and have changed schools, I felt I would like to get involved with a local charity and support their fantastic work.

I work in our family Tree Surgery business and also teach first aid.

I enjoy playing tennis and walking our dogs in the countryside. I also love travelling with family and friends.

ROSIE HICKEY-COLMAN

Trustee

Originally from Cambridge, I have lived in Flamstead with my husband Gavin for 11 years now having previously lived in Harpenden and St Albans. Our three daughters and young grand-daughter all live nearby.

For most of my career, I have worked in education as a secondary school teacher in several different schools in Hertfordshire, having previously worked in IT. I have now left the world of work and have been enjoying travelling, both in the UK and overseas, hiking, trying to get fit and tame my garden. I have also embraced my new grandmother duties with delight and can now be seen with a pushchair in the village and chasing a toddler around the park.

I have been a trustee for the charity since 2020 and feel that being part of the Wish Tree is a great opportunity to help the local community in which I live.

GILLIAN BIGGS

Secretary

I have lived in Flamstead for over 20 years, moving out of west London as I had started my family and wanted a more relaxed lifestyle such as a village to bring up children. I am married to Matthew and have 3 children, Jessica, Henry & Chloe.

I decided to join the Wish Tree team as they have helped me personally in the past. I am hard working and give 100% to all I do. I am looking forward to being involved in this great charity.
