Update from our London Marathon Runner
As the London Marathon 2025 draws near, I wanted to take a moment to update you all on my training and fundraising progress for The Wish Tree Charity.
Our Festive Fun Run on 22nd December marked the beginning of my marathon training and was a brilliant success. Together, we raised an incredible £950, but more importantly, the event brought our community together to share in some active Christmas cheer. I’m especially grateful to the team at The Wish Tree Charity and all the volunteers who made the day such a memorable one.
A special thank you to Harpenden Medical (www.harpendenmedical.com), who not only sponsored the event but have continued to support me throughout my training. Their generous offer of access to their cutting-edge facilities including the Cryochamber and Red-Light Therapy has been a game changer in helping me recover and stay on track. Their clinic is world-class, offering a wide range of wellness treatments in a purpose-built setting. I can’t recommend them highly enough!
On Thursday 3rd April, I hosted a Quiz Night at work alongside a colleague who is also running the marathon on behalf of the NSPCC. The evening was a huge success, and together we raised £1,800, which has been split between our two charities. This is all to add to the JustGiving total which currently sits at £2,500.
As I write this, we are less than three weeks away from the big day. My longest training runs are now behind me, and the tapering phase has begun. I’m thrilled to share that, thanks to your generosity and encouragement, I’ve raised a current total of £4,350 for The Wish Tree Charity.
I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated, attended the fun run, or simply offered a few words of encouragement along the way. Your support has meant the world to me and will make a real difference to a charity that means so much to so many. If you happen to be in London on the 27th April, please come and shout words of encouragement to all the amazing runners.
Best wishes,
Henry
